Lakshadi Coconut Oil takes its name from Laksha, the lac (Coccus lacca) that leads the formula, joined here with Ashwagandha, turmeric, liquorice and a group of classical herbs in a coconut oil base. It belongs to the classical oils recorded in the Ayurvedic literature, in the tradition of the Ashtanga Hridayam.
It is prepared by the classical Sneha Paka method, in which the herbs are cooked slowly into a coconut oil base, with buttermilk as a classical processing medium, until only the oil and its herbal actives remain.
