Tagara in classical Ayurveda
Tagara (Valeriana wallichii), the Indian valerian, is a well-known single herb of the classical Ayurvedic literature. It is a distinct species from Jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi).

Pesticide residues
Pesticide residues are the headline test for a dried botanical. They are tested and are within the maximum residue levels (MRLs) set for food under EU law (Regulation (EC) No 396/2005). Testing covers the pesticide groups relevant to dried botanical ingredients.

- Is Tagara the same as Jatamansi?
- No. Tagara is Valeriana wallichii (Indian valerian); Jatamansi is Nardostachys jatamansi, a different species. These capsules contain only Valeriana wallichii.
